214/365 - Marin Headlands

August 2, 2010

My father-in-law was off work right now and available to push me close to in lookup of my day by day shot. We took his 1949 Pontiac (seen in this article and in this article) and drove to the Marin Headlands. It was a exciting but foggy afternoon as we drove all over while Bob reminisced about his Military times and the time he expended out there. I experienced never really explored the place right before and his stories produced it extremely unforgettable.

I experienced hoped to get a great shot of the motor vehicle from a scenic qualifications but the fog put the kibosh on that plan. The above shot was taken while standing atop a single of the outdated gun batteries that safeguarded the San Francisco Bay throughout the 2nd globe war. Now open up to the public, these bunkers and gun positions dot the coastline all over the place and several date back again to the civil war. What you will not see is the fog that hung in a thick sheet just above the top of the body obscuring most of the bridge… ah well, at minimum it retained my shot from staying cliche. 🙂
