Douro Valley, Portugal.

I have been privileged in that the transportation pastime has taken me to numerous and assorted sites of fascination all over the environment. In the late 1990’s I was drawn back again time and yet again to Portugal. Besides the visits with a fellow enthusiast for enterprise these as ‘semmytrailer’, we also had a few spouse and children holidays there. The locale of one particular these, was the village of Pinhao in the higher reaches of the Douro Valley. The check out from our hired villa was identical to this image, although it was positioned on the hillside to the right on a winery over the railway bridge. Whilst a touch challenging to get to by street, the village did have a flourishing railway station total with characteristic tiled murals. This shot was taken on the working day of our departure as we climbed out of the valley to travel house.
